Sometimes problems are perceived as difficult and insoluble. Although problems may be difficult, they are never insoluble. With a different eye and guidance, resolution often appears. People worked on the Gordian knot for years as a seemingly impossible problem, until Alexander the Great cut the knot because it made sense to do so. That is a different approach and that is what mediation is all about, an approach entitling others to see a different path, but not necessarily the path initially intended.
Having practiced law for over 35 years and having acted for both plaintiffs and defendants in complicated personal injury and insurance oriented issues, I am in the unique position of being able to see the point of view of either side.
