Fred Leitch has extensive civil and criminal litigation experience. His areas of practice include: Civil, criminal and administrative law litigation from 1967 forward; currently trial advocacy at all levels of civil courts and administrative tribunals in Ontario; Appellate advocacy in the Divisional Court, Court of Appeal for Ontario and the Supreme Court of Canada; commercial litigation including bank and receivership litigation and shareholder (oppression remedy) litigation; administrative law, including Judicial Review Applications; construction litigation; environmental assessment advocacy under the Consolidated Hearings Act – waste management cases; Municipal advocacy, Ontario Municipal Board – planning and land use cases; Police Tribunal Discipline Advocacy, including appeals to the Ontario Police Commission; professional discipline under Provincial Statutes; Order in Council, Provincial Crown Attorney (Criminal Prosecutions); Standing Agent, Federal Justice Department (income tax and federal statutes, including narcotics prosecutions); labour, including collective agreement negotiations and arbitrations pursuant to employment standards legislation, appearances at Labour Relations Board and wrongful dismissal litigation, internal discipline proceedings for Labourers’ International Union of North America in Canada; Mediation and alternate dispute resolution
